Carrying Out a Stress Review of a Cat’s Home Environment

When I have been asked to help a cat with behavioural problems, I always carry out a stress review of their home and surroundings. This helps me identify whether there is anything that might be causing stress and enables me to provide advice and recommendations to their caregivers so they can create an optimal environment for their cat.

Here is a template of a stress review with a column for you to complete for your own cat or for cats that you are helping in a professional capacity. The template was created to supplement ‘Carrying Out a Stress Review’ in Chapter 8: The Fundamentals of Behaviour Analysis of my book A Professional’s Guide to Feline Behaviour: Understanding, Improving and Resolving Problems.
