This veterinary approved and externally accredited online course is written and designed by a qualified animal behaviourist with a busy behaviour referral practice. In the course you will learn how the dogs brain, genetics, breeding and environment affect behaviour. You will also learn canine body language and how to assess emotions, along with socialisation and other critical phases in a dog’s life. Fear, anxiety, frustration, reactivity and how to work safely with dogs are also covered in depth.
The course is made up of multiple learning processes, such as written content, webinars, downloadable resources, directed tasks, recommended reading and references. There are no exams, but to obtain your certificate you must answer some multiple choice questions at the end of each module.
There is a final assessment which is designed to help you bring together and apply some of the knowledge you have acquired throughout your studies on this course. This is not a marked piece of work but, to gain your certificate, you will need to provide some feedback and make notes in the form provided.

Reviews
This course is useful for both people within the animal industry but also for pet owners to be able to better understand their dog. This course was very engaging and I have gained a much greater knowledge and understanding surrounding canine behaviour.
I found the course highly beneficial and informative. I particularly appreciated module 5 about learning, what technics, methods and tools I can use to help the animal and the owner. I appreciated the in-depth explanations and real-life examples that helped clarify these concepts. Additionally, the course included helpful handouts and resources for further study.
The course provides a good overview of behavioural issues in an easier to understand format.
I particularly liked learning about learning theory, holistic therapies and methods of behavioural modification. It was so interesting how all stages of life can effect a dogs behaviour including from birth (even during gestation) to adulthood and becoming a senior.
The content was easy to understand and apply to day to day work. It was very informative but also engaging.
I found the whole course helpful and all of the different facts, methods of behavioural modification and factors I can apply to my work and recommend things to clients to use outside of the vet practice and at home.
This course has already helped my in my career as I have started socialisation clinics and also using these methods and information to aid canine behaviour and prevent fear and anxiety of coming to the vets.
I would highly recommend this course if you are wanting to get involved with canine behaviour and helping then feel more comfortable and reduce anxiousness.
Highly recommend, I am a qualified veterinary nurse and I will use this knowledge within practice
Loved this course, went into to a good amount of detail, found it interesting and enjoyable. Learnt a lot and look forward to learning more as a dog lover.
even as an experienced vet picked up a lot of knowledge , liked the size of the modules . always difficult to fit in with vetting full time but the lifetime access was both a blessing and a curse! Its taken me a long time to finish but will defiitely use it and further study
I found the set up of the course very good, easy to follow and create notes from.
Can follow the course at your own pace, very informative, lots of extra reading/ studies, easy to follow. Pdfs that can help if your going down the behaviourist route. Definitely recommend.
Would highly recommend.
I would highly recommend this course as interesting, engaging and clearly taught. The course was broken down into segments with multiple choice quizzes at the end of each section. At least for me, this works well for my brain to break down information and review and test myself. I have now access to a great deal of knowledge and resources that I have already used to improve the lives of my own animals but hopefully others as well.
Really insightful course that can be carried out at your own pace! Content was easy to understand, engaging and easily put into practice in the real world whether you are a veterinary professional, a dog owner or someone who is just keen on learning more about dog behaviour.
